dLAN® as the optimum connection for IPTV and hybrid TV solutions

IPTVBased on its dLAN® technology, devolo has come up with attractive solutions for digital TV transmission. There are solutions for both classic IPTV and for hybrid TV. IPTV services, such as those offered today by many ISPs (Internet service providers) and phone service providers, are transmitted excellently with dLAN®. Here is where the powerline-based feature "Quality of Service" proves its advantages: QoS can reserve a fixed amount of bandwidth for IPTV to ensure optimum transmission quality. With its high transfer rate, there is always enough bandwidth available not only for the IPTV signal, but also for VoIP telephone communications, for example, or other broadband Internet services. devolo's IPTV solutions cover residential needs, for example for hospitality facilities.

IPTVdevolo is the forerunner of hybrid TV applications and, with dLAN® technology, offers a core element that makes video-on-demand services profitable and attractive to IPTV providers. This technology requires no new network, but instead connects an existing DSL line to live TV reception via satellite. While content that is not time-critical, such as that from a media library, continues to be downloaded via the DSL network, the live TV format enters the building via satellite. As the global market leader in the powerline segment, devolo has developed an innovative, turnkey product for hybrid TV, which has already achieved success in real-world applications. This consists of a dLAN® satellite TV receiver system that ensures the distribution of the live TV signal throughout the house via the electrical wiring. Powerline works reliably throughout the building with a cable length of up to 300 meters and is easily set up with just a few steps.
