Students and teachers of the Willy Brandt secondary school access the Internet using dLAN® 200 AVpro2 adapters, preserving their historic school building from structural modifications
The administration of the Willy Brandt secondary school wanted to connect all classrooms, the staff room and the auditorium to the World Wide Web. Previously, only the 20 workstations in the computer room and four additional computers had access to the Internet.
Since the school building had been declared a listed monument, installing CAT wiring would have entailed complicated permit procedures and incalculable costs. A pilot test with WLAN did not produce satisfactory results due to structural circumstances.
With devolo dLAN®, Internet data can be transfered via the existing coaxial wiring in the schoolbuilding. The implementation did not require any structural alterations and kept the costs for networking the building low. Moreover, this solution could be implemented easily and independently of historic preservation regulations.
