Security package The dLAN® adapters from devolo offer very many advantages over traditional wireless technology. One critical aspect could be considered even far more important: SECURITY – how secure is my dLAN® network? How can I protect myself from unauthorised access from neighbours? If my neighbour uses the same power line, how can I be sure that he or she does not have the ability to intercept the data of my dLAN® connection?

In the field of data communications, particularly with regard to business data or consumer data, security is indispensable and is relevant everywhere and at all times. Therefore, devolo is extremely active in ensuring that data communications are evaluated according to the very highest quality standards regarding security. Products and solutions from devolo are completely oriented towards a fundamental security level. Security is implemented primarily by security features such as a firewall, software enhancements and/or secure DESpro or AES encryption, which is built into the devolo products.

For that very reason, the security question remains particularly important for many users with regard to DESpro or AES encryption. devolo recommends the DESpro and AES encryption, which, depending on the standard, is always integrated into the devolo dLAN® adapters and can be enabled in the software provided by devolo using a password. Thus devolo can guarantee an extremely high degree of data security.

The easiest way to set up a secure network via powerline is to use the dLAN® 200 AV and 500 AV series – with the "Encryption Button", the adapters provide the highest security along with maximum convenience. As soon as the adapter is plugged into a power outlet, all you have to do to create an encrypted network connection is press the Encryption Button. The network is protected immediately against unauthorised access. For the user, it could not be easier: configuring the adapter does not require any settings on the device, any software or a computer – that's simple!
