In addition to the three symbols well established for the operating state, the clearly structured LC display on the adapter shows a field strength bar chart for indicating connection quality to the other networked HomePlug adapters. Powerline technology uses the power supply line just like a long network cable; a new type of chip design allows the dLAN® 200 AVsmart+ to bridge line lengths of 300 metres with the same high connection quality. The dLAN® TV Sat Receiver is a fully equipped receiver for digital satellite television in HD quality. For the best possible signal transmission, it comes with an HDMI connection; analogue TVs can be connected via SCART. A CI module allows you to insert smart cards, for example for receiving encrypted programmes. For the best possible surround sound, a digital connection is provided in addition to the analogue audio outputs. The integrated, EPG-controlled recording function saves videos directly to a connected external USB or eSATA hard drive. The innovative v20 program pack contains, in addition to numerous functional improvements, the necessary support for the new Microsoft operating system. Even today, powerline specialist devolo AG provides support for the software of tomorrow. Microsoft Windows 7 is scheduled for a market launch in late 2009—and a public beta version is now in circulation. In anticipation of the release, devolo is shipping the new v20 software package with corresponding system support. devolo customers who switch to the new Microsoft OS at the time of the launch can be sure that their dLAN® network is ready to use immediately and fully functional, even in Windows 7. Moreover, participants in the Windows 7 beta test have all necessary tools at their disposal today.
The new Windows version is intended as the final replacement for Windows XP, which has been on the market since 2001, and is planned for much more rapid distribution than Windows Vista. Contributing factors will include more intuitive navigation and the graphically appealing design with few system requirements. devolo at CeBIT 2009: The largest product launch in the history of the company, with a new line-up of HomePlug entertainment products
devolo AG from Aachen, Germany, the global market leader in the HomePlug powerline segment, is presenting its largest ever product launch at CeBIT 2009. With the new dLAN® Entertainment product family, devolo is featuring numerous HomePlug innovations for the audio and video branch. At the exhibition, in addition to the new dLAN® Audio line-up, with highlights such as the dLAN® Audio base iPod dock and dLAN® Audio tone—the designer active speakers with HomePlug technology, the company will be unveiling the dLAN® TV Sat Receiver, its first digital satellite receiver with a dLAN® set-top box. The classic HomePlug application area in home networks, too, will feature new developments with products like the dLAN® 85 HS plus.
Powerline specialist devolo AG will uncover its largest product launch ever at this year's CeBIT, the central innovation tradeshow in the IT and CE market. At the fair, which will be held 3 – 8 March, 2009 in Hanover, Germany, the new dLAN® Entertainment product family will be shown for the first time. The new devolo dLAN® Audio world offers perfect multi-room audio entertainment. No matter the room, your favourite music—from your iPod, Internet radio, computer or entertainment system—is there. Two soon-to-be-introduced, innovative devolo products make it possible:
As a stylish speaker, the dLAN® Audio tone system combines an active stereo sound system with HomePlug technology in order to provide music throughout the home. With a toggle switch on top, you can choose between the various channels of the dLAN® Audio world, such as iPod, computer or Internet radio. devolo has placed great value in the ability of the dLAN® Audio tone system to adjust to the source for optimum sound quality. The 2-way bass reflex system provides powerful and brilliant sound. The remote control allows you to control the dLAN® Audio tone system from the comfort of your sofa.
With the dLAN® Audio base, devolo provides a seat for the iPod in the dLAN® Audio world. It allows one or more dLAN® Audio tone systems to play the music from an Apple music player or a HiFi or entertainment system that is connected to the dLAN® Audio base. The system is compatible with any Apple music player that comes with a dock connector. MP3 players made by other manufacturers can be connected via the analogue audio input. Furthermore, the music from the iPod can also be played back over the connected HiFi or entertainment system. For controlling the Apple player, an infrared remote control is included with the dLAN® Audio base.
dLAN® TV Sat – satellite TV in HD quality on TVs and computers
With the dLAN®-TV-Sat system, devolo has added the advantages of HomePlug technology to satellite reception: Until now, coaxial cables had to be routed throughout the home for DVB-S reception. With the dLAN®-TV world, devolo provides simple and convenient reception of digital satellite television—with no cables. Until now, this technology was limited to computers. With the new dLAN® TV Sat Receiver, devolo is now presenting a satellite receiver solution with HomePlug technology. Now you can watch digital satellite television on the HD television in the living room, too.
The dLAN® TV Sat Receiver is a fully equipped receiver for digital satellite television in HD quality. For the best possible signal transmission, it comes with an HDMI connection; analogue TVs can be connected via SCART. A CI module allows you to insert smart cards, for example for receiving encrypted programmes. For the best possible surround sound, a digital connection is provided in addition to the analogue audio outputs. The integrated, EPG-controlled recording function saves videos directly to a connected external USB or eSATA hard drive. If two receivers are used in one Twin LNB, the dLAN® TV Sat Receiver can record one programme while another TV channel is being viewed. This feature is also available if a coaxial satellite TV cable is being used—this is one way that the dLAN®-TV-Sat system provides improvements to existing satellite TV systems.
dLAN® 85 HS plus – the clever HomePlug innovation for better transmission quality
The new plus in HomePlug networking: The dLAN® 85 HS plus is a cleverly designed dLAN® Highspeed adapter. The integrated electrical socket enables additional end devices or power strips to be connected to the unit just like to a normal wall outlet. As such, the integrated mains filter significantly improves data transmission in the home network. The devolo dLAN® 85 HS plus offers a transmission rate of up to 85 Mbps and is designed for easy plug-and-play connections between router, computers and other network-compatible devices. With the patented devolo PowerSave technology, the adapter uses 30% less energy when the connected network device is off. dLAN® 200 AVpro WP – better HomePlug performance meets a smart housing design
The devolo dLAN® 200 AVpro WP allows HomePlug use even where only few wall outlets are available. With its integrated earthed socket, the dLAN® adapter can accommodate any end device and even multiple outlet strips without problem. In addition to the smart housing design, this device comes with an integrated mains filter, which helps to reduce interference in the powerline network, thus improving the transmission quality; the bandwidth status can be read directly from the unit via the LED quality indicator. Thanks to scalable upgrades, up to 63 slaves can be implemented per master. Professional functions such as Quality of Service (QoS) for automatic data prioritisation and comprehensive configuration options such as notching and output power are fully integrated. Remote control is available via the devolo management software dLAN® 200 AVmanager v2.
dLAN® 200 AVpro host wireless N – easy WLAN integration into HomePlug networks
The dLAN® 200 AVpro host wireless N makes it possible to create customised HomePlug network solutions based on coaxial, electric or telephone lines with transfer rates up to 200 Mbps. A single device can handle segment sizes with up to 253 slaves. The integrated WLAN technology with B, G and N standards allows you to use the device as a WLAN access point, bridge or client. During development, special attention was placed on simple and fast installation, without the need to route new wiring. Thus, for example, integrating the unit requires no changes to an antenna network. Remote management via SNMP or a Web interface saves time and lowers costs.
The application areas for the dLAN® 200 AVpro host wireless N include small to mid-size HFC networks as well as satellite distribution systems and satellite IF distribution, broadband cable distribution for community antenna associations and broadband cable in-premises distribution systems in residential buildings. devolo considers the target group of the new dLAN® business solutions to include mid-size and large hotels, companies in the housing industry, shipping companies, providers of security systems, and public and private institutions in charge of schools, senior housing facilities and hospitals.

In-Stat study: devolo confirmed as global market leader in HomePlug technology
The US marketing research institute In-Stat confirmed again in a recent study that devolo is the global market leader in HomePlug technology. As such, the firm, based in Aachen, Germany, attained the largest market share in the HomePlug powerline segment again in 2008.
The powerline-specialist, devolo AG, has again been confirmed as the global market leader in HomePlug products. The recent study was carried out by In-Stat, a US marketing research firm. In-Stat indicated that the market has grown more than 50 percent in the last twelve months.
For the coming months, In-Stat foresees strong growth in business with service providers. In addition, In-Stat indicates that energy providers will be a driving force in future. "We are very pleased that our dedication to develop innovative HomePlug solutions has again contributed to our securing global market leadership," stated the CEO of devolo AG, Heiko Harbers. "We are well equipped to continue our expansion into the powerline market in 2009." To support green IT initiatives, devolo has licensed their low current patent to HomePlug chip manufacturer Intellon
devolo AG from Aachen, Germany, the global market leader in the HomePlug powerline segment, has licensed its patented PowerSave low-current powerline technology to the US chip manufacturer Intellon. Thus, starting immediately, this devolo innovation will be available for all HomePlug AV products with Intellon chips.
The powerline specialist devolo AG is licensing a technology that has been developed based on the firm's own green IT initiative, "Follow Green" http://www.devolo-green-it.de. The intelligent PowerSave technology detects whether the network device connected to the HomePlug adapter is switched on or off. When the device is switched off, PowerSave also reduces the energy consumption of the adapter by 30 percent. Within the framework of the license agreement, Intellon has decided to start equipping their HomePlug AV chips with PowerSave technology immediately. This means that the increasingly popular HomePlug technology for home networking will now also meet high modern demands on low energy consumption. "We think it is the right step for Intellon to have attained the license for the PowerSave technology patented by devolo," said Heiko Harbers, CEO of devolo AG, who then added, "This will make HomePlug technology even more attractive throughout the world." As the result of the license agreement between devolo and Intellon, the PowerSave technology is now available to all manufacturers of HomePlug AV products with Intellon chips. devolo has also integrated this low-current, energy-saving technology into its HomePlug 1.0 compatible product line. Powerline specialist devolo AG is introducing the dLAN® Highspeed Ethernet II, a new generation of its renowned dLAN® Highspeed adapters. The primary focus in the further development of the best-selling product has been on implementing the devolo Green IT standards of the company's own "Follow Green" seal.
Therefore, the added value of the bestseller's latest version lies primarily in devolo's patented PowerSave technology, an improved 3-LED status indicator and a newly designed housing.
