devolo Operator Solutions at BBWF 2016: First Fiber solutions, OS WiFi Bridge has been nominated for ‘Best Wireless Broadband Innovation‘
devolo Operator Solutions, division for operator products, is presenting home networking innovations by their Powerline, Wi-Fi, Fiber and Smart Home departments from October 18th-20th in London at the Broadband World Forum 2016 (BBWF). The main focus is on tailored solutions for Internet service and telecommunications providers that devolo has closely and continuously developed with industry partners. Highlights shown at the devolo booth E50 include: OS WiFi Bridge, flexible and scalable solutions for UHD (4k) in home distribution, maximised Wi-Fi coverage and IP-based services everywhere in the home. Moreover, devolo Home Control adds plenty of Smart Home products and allows the integration of state-of-the-art products like Philips Hue or Amazon Echo. With two Fiber products, devolo also offers attractive solutions for implementing high-speed Internet via fiber optics. Last but not least, devolo Operator Solutions is nominated for the BBWF Award in the category ‘Best Wireless Broadband Innovation"!
OS WiFi Bridge: Scalable solution for UHD (4k) in Home distribution, great wireless coverage and services
The OS Wi-Fi Bridge works as a highly flexible and adaptable solution for realising a variety of services. As a multimedia hotspot, the OS WiFi Bridge provides users with an extensive Wi-Fi coverage at 1.734 Mbps due to its 4x4 MIMO technology, and enables triple play services including UHD distribution throughout the whole house - all made possible thanks to the device’s stable 5 GHz connection. The OS WiFi Bridge doubles as a cross-band repeater including ‘quality of service‘, which makes it an ideal solution for demanding setups with high bandwidth, including handling several services at once and a large number of mobile devices connected. Due to the OS WiFi Bridge’s scalability, it can be expanded with additional cross-band repeaters to realise even highly sophisticated installations. Thanks to the OS WiFi Bridge’s out-of-the-box setup, it can easily be operated by the customer. Remote servicing via TR-069 is possible.
Smart Home portfolio: Home Control integrates third-party devices
With the Smart Home portfolio ‘Home Control’, devolo Operator Solutions provides a tailored extension for the Home Networking range: The Z-Wave-based products offer all-round solutions for the three main applications: ‘security‘, ‘power management‘ and ‘comfort‘. At BBWF 2016, devolo Operator Solutions also presents new interfaces for the implementation of popular smart-home solutions by third-party developers. Not only is it possible to control the lighting system Philips Hue, but also the new voice-control system by Amazon Echo. Thanks to devolo’s expertise in the field of software development, they can even provide highly customized interfaces for existing systems.
First Fiber line-up: Fiber Termination Unit for self-installation
devolo will introduce two new Fiber products at the BBWF 2016. For the ideal application when using point-to-point connections and in Gigabit Passive Optical Network environments, devolo has developed a modular concept of a Fiber Termination Unit (FTU) and Optical Network Termination (ONT), which are physically separated from each other. Depending on the type of network, the OS Fiber Point is implemented as a PtP or a GPON variant. The OS Fiber Router provides four Gigabit Ethernet ports and high-end Wi-Fi with 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. The device even supports CATV for integrating television. The single components can be easily assembled by the customer - which makes the FTTH roll-out much more cost-efficient. A remote servicing interface via TR-069 is already integrated.
